'If the Hat Fits', is an original oil painting inspired by English writer, philosopher, art critic, and polymath John Ruskin who founded the Ruskin School of Drawing. He created a paper crown as one of his drawing subjects. The paper crown presents an artist with complex lessons in the elements of drawing.
As a few of you know I’ve been teaching art classes this last few months and took great delight in replicating a still life of John Ruskin’s paper crown. It’s such a playing painting subject, but also very challenging, I just had to paint it myself.
