Promise Hour

Mother, Pigmented chalk and paper on panel, 150cm x 213cm (excluding dust fallout) & Morph
'Promise Hour', speaks of a poetic time, and held in the air, are wishes to be granted; with acts that seek to enchant the disenchanted.

“[...] or more like a place that’s holding its breathe, hoping time won’t stumble upon it.”Excerpt from Kafka on the Shore, Haruki Murakami, 2002

This installation was produced as part of my graduating exhibition for my MA at City and Guilds of London Art School.

On Gossip and the Glamour

IMG_9978.jpg
‘On Gossip and the Glamour’
An exhibition redressing the origins of gossip and glamour.
Gossip is rooted in sisterhood and spiritual affinities, as well as, gathering together tellers of stories, and a sharing of craft. Glamour originates from the Scottish term ‘grammar’, meaning ‘magic spells’. The nature of these acts converge in artistic practice, and it is here we coalesce through a conduit of tradition that ignites our contemporary voice.

Curated by Kate Knight and featuring the work of:

Sian Costello | Ana Kazaroff | Kate Knight | Sonia McDuff

Kelly Sweeney | Sara Trillo | Twinkle Troughton

Sacred/Profane

IMG_5873.JPG
Sacred/Profane was a two part exhibition featuring works that rub alongside notions of the sacred and profane. The exhibition was held at Strange Cargo Gallery in Folkestone. Many of the works went on to be selected for 'Artist if the Day', at Flowers Gallery, London, as well as, winning runner up for The Marmite Prize for Painting.
